Spring in the Chihuahuan Desert is something special. It is always a treat to be able to leave the windows open, both day and night, and to sleep in the gentle breeze of clean air under a pile of quilts. Coffee made with local spring water and the occasional fragrance of rain in the morning makes you wonder if this is what mornings in Heaven are like.
If you missed visiting us this spring, don’t be afraid to make plans to come see us in the summer. Days can be hot, but the mornings and evenings are extraordinary. There is generally about a 40-degree difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures in the summer. July and August are the rainy season, brought on by frequent cold fronts that can make even the daytime temperatures quite tolerable.
